Minutes of AALAS Bd. of Trustees Meeting - Seattle, WA - October 10,
2003
The AALAS Strategic Plan, Goals, and Objectives, as updated at the
July Board of Trustees meeting, was adopted and will become effective
at the close of the 2004 National Meeting in Miami.
The 2004 Vice President was designated to coordinate the transition
to the updated Strategic Plan.
The 2004 Vice President was designated to chair a subcommittee of the
BOT to prepare a draft proposal for the transition to the updated Strategic
Plan with presentation to the BOT at the February, 2004 Winter Session.
The 2004 Operating and Capital Asset budgets were approved as presented
by the Secretary-Treasurer.
A change to the Policies and Procedures Manual was approved
to reflect a clarified description of the Scientific Advisory Committee
membership to include ìa Chair, Vice Chair, and 4 National AALAS
members with an interest in promoting science-based initiatives of
the Association. The members will serve 3-year terms, staggered so
that 2 members are replaced each year.
Funds not to exceed $1,000 were approved to cover the registration
and hotel accommodations for U. Kristina Stephens to attend the 9th
FELASA meeting in France as AALASí representative.
Valerie Lansford, District 7 AALAS Trustee, was approved as Trustee
to the AALAS Foundation replacing Ardis Roseberry, District 8 AALAS
Trustee whose term expired at the end of the 2003 National Meeting.
It was approved that effective with the 2004 committee appointments
that the International Relations Advisory Council (IRAC) will be comprised
of representatives appointed by the AALAS Vice President of either
international Affiliated Organizations or other international organizations
to which AALAS has an official representative. Each organization shall
have only 1 representative on the IRAC.
The BOT agreed to dissolve the M&T meeting program.
The BOT decided not to sponsor a midyear symposium on ì3 Rsî in
2005 and to recommend to P&G that any donation for the purpose
of scientific study should be directed to the ACLAM Foundation in the
name of AALAS. Funds from P&G came from a donation of the Cohen
Award honorarium plus additional funds.
