The B & K Universal Group International Travel Fellowship was established in 1987 to promote international exchange of ideas among laboratory animal colleagues. The recipient of this fellowship will receive an all-expense paid trip to a major European laboratory animal convention during that year.

The nominee must meet the following criteria:

1. Be actively involved in AALAS, either at the local and or national level,
2. Be currently employed in laboratory animal sciences,
3. Have indirect involvement with transgenic technology,
4. Not have an international travel budget or normally travel overseas on business.

The nomination packet should include a nomination letter, and the candidate's curriculum vitae or resume, and letters of support (no more than two). Recommended points to include in the nomination packet are the candidate's:

• Experience
• Length of service
• Positions held
• Responsibilities
• Education/training in the field of laboratory animal science
• Participation in AALAS national and local activities
• Accomplishments in the field of laboratory animal science
• Awards and honors

Nominations should be sent to your local AALAS branch by July 15th where one candidate will be selected and submitted by September 1st to the current National AALAS President for final selection.

The winner will be announced at the B & K Universal's Group International Breakfast during the National AALAS Meeting in Indianapolis on November 10, 1999.
